Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes what we do with personal information that we collect and use for our own purposes, such as account information and information about how User uses and interacts with our Services, including information User submits to our customer support as well as certain information relating to Users'  End Users. We for example use cookies and similar technologies. 

When this Privacy Notice mentions "Oidom", “we”, “us” or “our” it refers to Oidom which is a brand owned by Oidom Oy. 

By using any of our Services, you confirm you have agreed to the Terms of Service and read and understood this Privacy Policy.

In our Privacy Policy, when we refer to “Users”, we mean our customers who use our Services, including visitors to our sites. The users, visitors and customers of our Users’ sites are “End Users”. 

1. Personal in­for­ma­tion we collect

We may collect various personal information as further described below through: (a) Personal Information provided by user, (b) Billing Information, (c) Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies and (d) Third Party Analytics Data. We do not collect or use “sensitive consumer information”, when ordering service from Oidom directly.  We do not offer or sell data based on sensitive consumer information to any third party, (e) Third Party Analytics Services. 

(a) Personal Information provided by user
We collect personal information (e.g., name, email address, phone number, and other information that we can use to identify or contact user) when user:

  • registers an account with us using Oidom website;
  • signs up or logs in to our Service using services such as Facebook, Google+, or other Open ID provider.
  • contacts our customer support services
  • shares information with us in connection with surveys, contests or promotions

We use this personal information in order to provide user with our Service, to respond to billing inquiries, and keep user updated with news about Oidom, the Service, and our partners in accordance with consent preferences as applicable.

(b) Automatically Collected User Information
When user accesses and uses our Service, we automatically collect and store, in log files, IP addresses, browser types, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, language, clickstream data, and other user information as part of our Service analytics (individually and collectively, “Automatically Collected Information”). We do not link this Automatically Collected Information to other information we collect about user and such Automatically Collected Information does not directly identify user as a person. 

(c) Billing Information
If user registers a domain through us, or purchases a paid or a free service, we require user's billing information in order to process the transaction. Billing information may include name, address, telephone number, credit card details, PayPal email address, and other information necessary to process the transaction. Credit card information is not stored in our service, but they can be stored in third party payment gateways, which we use (like Stripe and PayPal). We do not store full credit card number or CVV2; this information is discarded after transaction has been processed.

(d) Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Oidom and our affiliates, partners, and service providers (such as marketing, analytics, and customer support partners) may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for analyzing trends, site administration, tracking mobile application installations, understanding how users interface with our site(s), and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. 

We partner with third parties to manage our advertising on other sites, such as Our third party partners may use technologies such as cookies to gather information about user activities on our Service and other sites in order to provide user advertising based upon browsing activities and interests. The use of cookies by our partners, affiliates, and service providers is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We do not have access or control over these cookies. Our partners, affiliates, and service providers use session ID and persistent cookies to make it easier for user to navigate our site. Often, advertisers will employ a third-party service provider for serving the advertisements and for tracking the performance of an ad program. These companies may employ cookie and 1x1 pixel technology to measure and improve the effectiveness of ads for the advertisers. These companies may collect and use anonymous information about visits to our member websites and other websites. 

(e) Third Party Analytics Services

Some parts of our Service use third party analytic services to help us create a better user experience. 

(f) Sensitive Consumer Information
Oidom does not collect or use “sensitive consumer information” and does not offer or sell to any third party any data based on sensitive consumer information.  For purposes of this Privacy Notice, “Sensitive consumer information” includes social security numbers or other government-issued identifiers.

2. How we use users' personal in­for­ma­tion

We use the personal information we obtain to:

  • Provision of the Services. Create and manage user Account, provide and personalize our Services, process payments and respond to inquiries.
  • Communication. To communicate with user, including by sending emails about user's transactions and Service-related announcements.
  • Surveys and contests. Administer surveys, contests and other promotions.
  • Advertising. Analyze user interactions with our Services and third parties’ online services so we can tailor our advertising to what we think will interest the user.
  • Promotion. Promote Oidom Services and send tailored marketing communications about products, services, offers, programs and promotions and measure the success of those campaigns. For example, we may send different marketing communications to user based on subscription plan or what we think may interest based on other information we hold.
  • Improving our Services. Analyze and learn about how the Services are accessed and used, evaluate and improve our Services and monitor and measure the effectiveness of our advertising. We do this based on anonymous, pseudonymized or aggregated information which does not focus on user individually. 
  • Security. Ensure the security and integrity of our Services.
  • Third party relationships. Manage our vendor and partner relationships.
  • Enforcement. Enforce our Terms of Service and other legal terms and policies.
  • Protection. Protect our and others’ interests, rights and property (for example to protect our Users from abuse).
  • Complying with law. Comply with applicable legal requirements, such as tax and other government regulations and industry standards, contracts and the law enforcement requests.

We process personal information for the above purposes when:

  • Performance of a contract. We need user's personal information to provide user with services and products requested by the user, or to respond to user's inquiries. For example, we need email address so that user can sign in to Oidom account.
  • Legal obligation. We have a legal obligation to maintain personal information, such as to comply with applicable tax and other government regulations or to comply with a court order or binding law enforcement request.
  • Legitimate interests. We have a legitimate interest in using user's personal information. In particular, we have a legitimate interest in the following cases:
  1. To operate the business and provide user with tailored advertising and communications to develop and promote our business.
  2. To analyze and improve the safety and security of our Services - such as protecting our Service against fraud, spam and abuse.
  3. To provide and improve the Services, including any personalized services - we do this as it is necessary to pursue our legitimate interests of providing tailored offering to our Users.
  4. To anonymize and subsequently use anonymized information.
  • Protecting user and others. To protect user's interests, or those of others. 
  • Others’ legitimate interests. Where necessary for the purposes of a third party’s legitimate interests, such as our partners who have a legitimate interest in delivering tailored advertising to user and monitoring and measuring its effectiveness or our Users who have a legitimate interest in having their sites function properly and securely and analyzing the usage of their sites so they can understand trends and improve their services.  

3. Sharing personal in­for­ma­tion

We share personal information in the following ways:

  • Business partners.  We may share personal information with business partners. For example, we may share user's personal information when our Services are integrated with their Third Party Services, but only when user has been informed or would otherwise expect such sharing.
  • Service providers. We share personal information with our service providers which perform services on our behalf. For example, when assisting with data storage.
  • Process payments. We transmit personal information via an encrypted connection to our payment processor.  
  • Following the law or protecting rights and interests. We may disclose personal information if we determine that it is reasonably necessary to comply with the law, protect our or others’ rights, interests or property or prevent fraud or abuse of Oidom or our Users or End Users. 
  • Business transfers. If we're involved in a reorganization, acquisition, merger or sale of some or all of our assets, user's personal information may be transferred as part of that deal.

4. Safety of personal in­for­ma­tion

We take reasonable steps to put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the integrity and security of personal information about user and to prevent unauthorized or unlawful processing of personal information and the accidental loss, destruction, or damage to personal information.  These measures can include physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store data. However, data transmissions over the Internet and methods of electronic storage are not 100% secure. Consequently, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information user transmits to us and user does so at user's own risk.

If Oidom learns of a security systems breach we may attempt to notify user electronically so that user can take appropriate protective steps. We may post a notice on our applicable web sites if a security breach occurs. In these circumstances, we may also send an email to user at the email address user has provided to us. 

5. User rights

User can access, update, change or delete personal information (or that of user's End Users) either directly in User account or by contacting us at to request the required changes. User can exercise other rights (including deleting User account) by contacting us at the same email address.

User can also elect not to receive marketing communications by changing preferences in User Account or by following the unsubscribe instruction in such communications.

For technical reasons, there is likely to be a delay in deleting personal Information from our systems when user requesting to do so. We also will retain personal Information in order to comply with the law, protect our and others’ rights, resolve disputes or enforce our legal terms or policies.

6. Data transfers

Personal information which user submits through our Services may be transferred to countries other than where user lives. Servers can be provided (but not limited), for example, by Amazon, Google or Suomen Hostingpalvelu Oy. 

User's personal information may be transferred to countries that do not have the same data protection laws as the country in which user initially provided the information.

We rely upon a number of means to transfer personal information which is subject to the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”)  These include:

  • Standard data protection clauses. We may, transfer personal information to recipients that have entered into the European Commission approved contract for the transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area.  
  • Other means. We may, transfer personal information to recipients that are in a country the European Commission or a European data protection supervisory authority has confirmed, by decision, offers an adequate level of data protection, pursuant to an approved certification mechanism or code of conduct, together with binding enforcement commitments from the recipient to apply the appropriate safeguards, including as regards data subjects’ rights, or to processors which have committed to comply with binding corporate rules.

7. End Users’ personal in­for­ma­tion

Our customers who have created a site using Oidom are responsible for what they do with the personal information they collect, directly or through Oidom, about their End Users.  

a. User relationship with End Users

As our User, user might collect personal information about their End Users. For example, user might ask in a contact form for an address, email address or other personal information. User may also use cookies and similar technologies to analyze usage and other trends.

User is solely responsible for complying with any laws and regulations that apply to collection and use of End Users’ information, including personal information collected about them from us or using Oidom functionality or cookies or similar technologies.  

User must publish own privacy and cookie policy and comply with them.

We’re not liable for the relationship User and their End Users have or how user collects and use personal information about their end users (even if user collects it from us or using Oidom functionality or cookies or similar technologies) and we won’t provide user with any legal advice regarding such matters.

8. Retention of User in­for­ma­tion

We retain personal information regarding user for as long as user account is active or for as long as needed to provide User with the Services. We also retain personal information for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, for example, to comply with our legal obligations, to protect us in the event of disputes and to enforce our agreements and to protect our and others’ interests.  

The precise periods for which we keep personal information vary depending on the nature of the information and why we need it. Factors we consider in determining these periods include the minimum required retention period prescribed by law or recommended as best practice, the period during which a claim can be made with respect to an agreement or other matter, whether the personal information has been aggregated or pseudonymized, and other relevant criteria. For example, the period we keep email address is connected to how long Account is active, while the period for which we keep a support message is based on how long has passed since the last submission in the thread.

As Users may have a seasonal site or come back to us after an Account becomes inactive, we don’t immediately delete personal information when trial expires or user cancels all paid services. Instead, we keep personal information for a reasonable period of time, so it will be there for user if the user decides to come back.

User may delete their account by contacting us at and Oidom will delete the personal information it holds about the user (unless we need to retain it for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy).

Please note that in the course of providing the Services, we collect and maintain aggregated, anonymized or de-personalized information which we may retain indefinitely.

9. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We’ll update this Privacy Policy from time to time when we determine is necessary or appropriate. When we make changes, we’ll update the “Effective Date” at the top of the Privacy Policy and post it on our sites.

We encourage User to check back periodically to review this Privacy Policy for any changes since User's last visit.
